The Solemnity of Our Lady of Mount Carmel was celebrated with pomp and gaiety on 15th July at 7 pm in Guardian Angels Church – Vancouver. Bishop Gary Gordon of White Horse Diocese was the main celebrant. He invited people to celebrate this feast as members of the God’s Garden of Carmel, with great devotion to Mother Mary, devotion to Holy Scapular and imitating her virtues of humility, obedience and contemplation. Rev. Fr. Jerry (Secular Carmelite Delegate Provincial), Fr. Boniface (St. Paul’s Hospital Senior Chaplain), Fr. Vittorio (Blessed Sacrament Church Pastor), Fr. Re (Assistant Pastor of Holy Trinity Church), Fr. Antonio, and Fr. Jack (Pastor of St. Antony’s Church Agassi) were the concelebrants with the Pastor of Guardian Angels, Fr. Rudolf V. D’Souza. The Secular Carmelites beautified the Church with flowers and adorned Mother Mary Statue with Red Roses; the Scapulars were arranged by Fr. Jerry and the wonderful Choir was invited from St. Edmund’s Church. The Guardian Angels Church was packed with devotees. During the celebration the forthcoming Project of Canadian Carmelites was highlighted with the project plan photos and blueprints of the Little Flower Formation House. After the Holy Eucharist all were invited for a sumptuous dinner arranged just outside the Church for all in the open air. We are grateful to all the participants who made this event a grand success.
